| Abstract | The decision to build Hong Kong's new airport at Chep Lap Kok removed a major irritant in Sino-British relations and has clearly helped the business environment in Hong Kong. The evidence is already there. Several companies have indicated they would be seeking to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, while some others are looking to raise new capital in the market through rights issues. Even loan syndication activity is beginning to pickup. Most analysts, as Executive's Bretigne Shaffer found out, believe Hongkong is on the threshold now of a period of robust growth. |
